Bump Watch: 29 Weeks

7:53 PM

And counting!

It feels good to be in the third and final trimester. Can't wait to meet this little booger. Just about 4 more appointments with my doctor and 1 last ultrasound and he should be here!

We can't wait. Both his crib and bassinet await him already. The nursery is coming along nicely.

OURSTORY

Life as of late {according to my cell phone pictures}

10:34 AM

Hi friends,

Life as of late has been busy. Lot's of things going on around here. Here is a little of what our past week or so has looked like.

-Will started his new job and LOVES it!
-The school semester is nearing the end! Woo-hoo. Another one down.
-Lots of cleaning/housework.  I'm in full-nesting mode.
-Our car seat for little Holland arrived! We went with this one and I love it. It is so light! Even with the base on.
-We had a yard sale. Time to make room for this babe!
-We got to spend a day in the country, and I got some much needed quality time with my boys.
-Shower invites have gone out (thanks Sis)
-Will has become a pro balloon-animal maker, well at least when it comes to giraffes and dogs. The Easter bunny left us quite the bag on balloons this year. We've been having fun with them.
-I planted a garden!
-We (the kids I nanny for and I) baked Christmas cookies in April and it was so much fun! Plus we got a park day. Fun stuff.
-We got a new roof! Talk about exciting. No more ugly tarp across half our house nor wet ceiling. Not super ideal.
-I am officially in my 3rd trimester!! 28 weeks and counting!

And...

-We're in Oregon!! Right now actually. Hubby headed up to Portland for rugby playoffs and dropped me off in Ashland for some time with my extended family and a family shower tomorrow!! I am so excited. We will be on the road again Monday morning and back into the swing of work and whatnot early Tuesday.

Double Duty Decorating: Wine Box Shelves

3:27 PM

Wine Box Shelving! I am excited about this one!

Complimentary of Pinterest, hubs and I now have some lovely and super low cost box shelves in our bedroom. I've been wanting some wall shelving for a while now, but yikes! Shelves really get expensive. We were looking at a minimum of $100…easily, for cheap, generic brand shelves and well, quite frankly with little Cooper on the way, not exactly money we have to spend on things like such.

You can imagine how thrilled I was when I came across this idea of using wine crates as box shelves! Isn't Pinterest the best? Living in wine country and all, could it be more perfect? Immediately I began searching our local craigslist, and low and behold, wine crates for $5 bucks a pop! Perfect. I got 4 in various shapes and sizes. All we had to do was remove the lids and arrange. Two of the crates we screwed directly into the wall, the others we stacked. Best of all this whole project cost only $20, and the crates hold a lot!! I have been having fun arranging them with picture frames, small hanging plants, books, little vases…even an old polaroid camera. Get creative, these are totally versatile and quite artsy in appearance. Go ahead and mix some framed art in too! It looks great. I am all for eclectic. Eclectic not clutter. Yes, there is a difference my friends. ;)

I don't think I even need to say it, but I'm totally love my new shelving. And, Will was all for this project! This usually isn't the case, so this made it particularly fun for me! And…turns out my dad had the same idea when he was in his early 20's, only with peach boxes! He said he had them for years and moved with the many times! How cute is that?
