Taste and you shall see.
10:49 AMNo, this isn't a recipe post, but I will get there, I promise. Today I wanted to take a few moments and praise the Lord.
I woke up this morning feeling nothing but excitement, joy. Don't you love those days? We are told to rejoice in every situation (Philippians 4:4, Deuteronomy 12:7, I Thessalonians 5:16..you get the point). However, how often do we not? Too often. I too, am guilty. I have met a man however who really, truly, and deeply strives to do so. He inspires me. Many trials have come his way, but he stands firmly on his Rock, clings to Christ. He is Will's father, Pete.
Yesterday we heard news, news that he got a wonderful new job, and sold one of his companies. With this he will be able to build himself a home, and financially do very well. He has been generous enough to share his good fortune with us. Come fall, Will will be able to return to school, full time. I will be working 4 hours less a week, which couldn't have come at a better time. I will be able to have more time at home which will enable me to be with Will, to help with the loads of school work I know he will have. Pete, thank you for this opportunity. You have blessed us immensely. This new job also means Pete will be in San Francisco once a month! We are so excited, and have a guest room ready (almost, that is) for him.
Pete's life, at many times has seemed upside down and backwards. He has watched many things crumble beneath his feet. He has faced trials that I know not many would make it through. The Lord has been working in him. And in every situation he remembers our Lord, he praises him. He loves deeply, he loves strechingly (I'd like to acknowledge Nicolai Pedersen for the creation of such a lovely word). I aspire to love in the way Pete does. And today, my heart cannot help but to rejoice for him, with him, as he enters a new season.
Pete, we are so excited for you.
Let's all try a little harder to rejoice in EVERYTHING ("good" and hard times alike), to give thanks in EVERYTHING, to praise our Lord in EVERY situation, to REMEMBER out God in it all. Our Lord will not give us a load we cannot carry. With His help we can make it though every situation. "God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it". 1 Corinthians 10:13. We must lean on Him.
He knows us from the very tip of our head, to the ends of our toes, and loves us without bounds.
"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him". Psalm 34:8
Have a wonderful day all! "Rejoice, and again I say Rejoice"! ;)
