remember how i said instagram ate my blog, but then assured you it most certainly had not and i promised i'd still be on this space too...well i haven't exactly lived up to that. remember how i also told you my computer was on the fritz? well...long story short, it still is. in fact all of mytechnology is. ok, that might be a little dramatic. my laptop and my cell phone, which decided it'd like to quit charging or holding a charge. but anyways, here i am, posting anyhow on my husband's "backup" computer. ridiculously blessed, i know. how many of us out there don't even have one yet alone two or three or four means of technology to access the online world from? i'll stop my complaining. things just take a little longer right now.

and you better believe a whole slew of newborn pictures will be on their way soon. you know i won't be able to help myself. but before we get there, let's talk about this (almost) 2 year old of ours.

he turns two friday and i can hardly believe it. the years have been gone in a flash. he's sweet and quirky with a side of stubborn and can go from 0-10 in about .2 seconds. he's got friends of his own these days and is talking up a storm. short phrases aren't uncommon around here anymore. he's a swim class graduate and an official toddler room partaker at sunday school. my baby is long gone. most days he seems nothing short of little boy. he loves his dad like nothing else in this world. generally you can find them in the back yard covered in dirt with tools strewn about and always more than one project going at a time. i can only coax them in for a quick bite to eat before they are off again. it's been a sweet, sweet summer. we're soaking up the days with dad and slow mornings that will all too quickly pass come august, with school, work, and a new baby. we've even ditched the crib these days. two years have gone all too fast, none of it taken for granted. our lives are richer than we could have ever imagined and we have the good lord and our (mostly) sweet holland to thank for that. he can be a little like a sour patch. ;) we've been blessed thus far watching our son grow up and warmly welcome the years to come, the friendships to be made, and the memories in the making.

happy almost two little mister! may your wildest of dreams come true.
